" Henna is plant exrtact that is used as a painting tool in creating intricate designs and patterns. The process of applying Henna is called Mehndi, better known as "Temporary Tattoo". Originally used in countries such as India, Pakistan and the Middle East, Mehndi is a part of 16 traditional adornments reserved for Indian weddings. The Henna leaf when ground to a paste releases a copper colored pigment that stains wherever it touches. The paste is sqeezed through a small cone and is used to create decorative art designs directly on the body. The longer the paste is left on the skin, the darker the design. Mehndi creates a "Temporary Tattoo" effect lasting anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks. "
